
Victoria Bushrangers had their revenge in KFC T20 Big Bash 2009 by beating New South Wales Blues by 6 wickets after their last year loss against the same team in the finals. Victoria Dwayne Bravo’s all round performance helped their team clinch the match from no where. New South Wales scored 178 runs with the loss of 6 wickets and opener David Warner led the team in front with 40 runs in 20 balls and made full use of the power plays. Then SPD Smith (35 of 26 balls) and Dwayne Smith (25 of 15 balls) good knock at the end helped their team post 178 runs in 20 overs. Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets and 32 runs.
Chasing 179, Brad Hodge and Wade scored 40 and 41 runs respectively to put their team in good position. They both were dismissed by Starc and Bird respectively. David Hussey scored quick fire of 38 runs in 16 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Hussey then got out to Dwayne Smith by a splendid one hand catch by SPD smith at the boundary line which would have been a certain six. He departed when the team score reached 153 runs in 17.3 overs. Dwayne Bravo(18 runs of 8 balls) who came at the fall of him took the match away from Blues as he hit a two towering sixes and four to help his team cross the target needed with 2 balls to spare. West Indies all rounder Dwayne Bravo was declared man of the match.
