Amla puts Proteas in command

Hashim Amla scored 253 runs and remained unbeaten and helped his team reach commanding position over the Indian team in the first test of day 2 held in Nagpur.
South Africa who opted to bat first, scored 291 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, thanks to the partnership of 281* run stand for the third wicket between Kallis and Amla as both scored 159 runs and 115 runs before Zaheer Khan rattled the South African opening batsmen Prince and Smith for 0 and 6 runs respectively.
Resuming their over night scored, Kallis managed to add another 14 runs and got out to Harbhajan. AB de Villiers who came at the fall of him supported Amla well and managed to contribute 53 runs and got out to Sehwag. Then the much expected JP Duminy dint play well as he went back to the dressing room for 9 runs. Mark Boucher, who came at the fall of him, played patiently and helped Amla cross the 200 mark and when Amla reached 253 runs with Steyn remained unbeaten without opening his account, Captain Smith declared their innings at the score of 558 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
Indian team who went on to bat with only four remaining in the end of day’s play, managed to reach home safely without losing a wicket as both Sehwag and Gambhir added 25 runs.
